- Accidents that occur in cliff rappelling and cliff, mountain and ice climbing are excluded in the Leisure Time Accident Insurance. Mountain hiking of any sort higher than 4.000 m above sea level is also excluded in Leisure Time Accident Insurance. You can purchase the special risk cover for a short period of time if you plan to engange in these activities.
- Home Insurance includes Liability Insurance. According to Icelandic law, you are liable for compensation if you cause bodily injury or property damage to others through reckless and illegal actions.
- If you are planning on participating in mountain sports or mountain hiking abrod, we recommend purchasing a travel insurance.
- Home Insurance includes Contents Insurance. The Contents Insurance covers damage to contents, like hiking gear, due to fire, theft and water.
- If your Home Insurance includes Comprehensive Content Insurance, an optional coverage, hiking gear is also covered for damage caused by sudden and unforeseen external events.
General Information
- Various equipment related to hobbies is generally classified as home contents in insurance terms.
- In case of theft, insurances only apply if general precaution is taken to prevent items from being stolen.
- Home Insurance offers you to choose from two different coverage limits and three different deductibles amounts. The selected coverage amount determines the maximum compensation for damages. The cost of insurance varies based on the selected deductible amount. The higher the deductible amount, the cheaper the insurance.
- The main advantage of having both credit card travel insurance and Travel Insurance is that in the event of a loss, you will be compensated under both policies in the event of an extensive loss. If the credit card travel insurance does not cover the damage in full, you can claim on the Travel Insurance.
- We advise our customers to hold on to their payment receipts so that they can be presented if damage needs to be reported.
