- Legal Expenses Insurance is included in our F Plus 2, 3 and 4 policies and in our Homeowners Insurance.
- The Legal Expenses Insurance included in F Plus 2, 3 and 4 pays your legal expenses due to disputes in civil actions that concern you as an individual. However, there is a difference in the amount of compensation, the amount of deductible and the extent of protection depending on which F plus policy you choose.
- The Legal Expenses Insurance included in the Homeowners Insurance only pays your legal expenses due to disputes in civil actions that concern you as a property owner.
- The condition of the insurance is that you are assisted by an attorney. The attorney notifies us when he undertakes the case.
- We will inform you of whether the case is covered under the Legal Expenses Insurance after satisfactory information has been received about the case.
The insurance covers
- Legal expenses due to civil actions concerning you as an individual that can be conducted before a District Court, the Court of Appeal or the Supreme Court in Iceland.
The insurance does not cover
- Legal expenses due to criminal cases.
- Legal expenses due to divorce, separation, access or custody matters.
- Legal expenses related to commercial operations.
- Legal expenses related to property.
- Legal expenses incurred due to the use or ownership by those covered by the insurance of vehicles, or any kind of trailers.
- Legal expenses due to bankruptcy, compulsory agreements, liens, claims, bills or collection cases.
- Legal expenses due to a dispute with VIS.
- The part of the claim that falls under the deductable.
