VÍS roadside assist­ance

• Your car battery is dead and you need a jump start.

• You need help changing a flat tyre. This assist­ance is only provided if there is a spare tyre in the car.

• You need help because your vehicle is out of fuel.

• You need help opening frozen doors or locks.

• Your vehicle is locked and you are unable to get inside.

Note: Service is provided only in the urban areas listed above and therefore does not extend, for example to Reykja­nes­braut (the main road to the airport) or the Hval­fjörður Tunnel.

• The car is 15 years or older. Applies both to assist­ance on site and tow truck service.

• The car is regist­ered to a company and/or weighs over 3.5 tonnes and/or is over seven metres in length.

• The car is stuck in snow, mud or sand.

• The car has been damaged in an incident.

• Customers in loyalty levels bronze, silver, gold or diamond get access to VÍS Roadside Assist­ance up to three times a year. You can see your loyalty level in the VÍS app.

• Assist­ance is only provided to private passenger cars in specific service areas.

• If it is not possible to fix the problem through on-site assist­ance, VÍS customers get 50% discount of the cost of having a tow truck from Krókur tow their car to a repair shop located within the same service area.

• A full fee will be charged according to the Krókur price list if a car needs to be towed to a repair shop outside of VÍS Roadside Assist­ance service areas.

• Day time rates apply during week­days from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Night time and holiday rate applies during all week­days from 5:00pm to 8:00am and around the clock during Satur­days, Sundays and holi­days.
