The insurance covers damage that your vehicle causes to others as well as accidents suffered by you or the person driving.
With us, you do not pay any deductible if you cause damage while driving.
Mandatory vehicle insurance consists of compulsory motor liability insurance and drivers and owners accident insurance.
The compulsory motor liability insurance covers damage that you cause to others, including people or objects, when using the vehicle.
The drivers and owners accident insurance covers personal injury sustained by you or the vehicle's driver while driving the vehicle. The accident insurance is optional insurance for off-road vehicles.
Compulsory motor liability insurance purchased in Iceland is valid in most European countries. However, the insurance does not apply automatically in countries outside Europe or in some European countries outside the EEA. If you use your vehicle in these countries and find yourself in a situation where you need to provide confirmation of your insurance, you must present an international insurance certificate, the so-called Green Card.
For the sake of convenience, we have prepared a confirmation of insurance for you which is available in your customer portal, under the vehicle insurance. It should be enough for you to present this confirmation instead of the Green Card.
