Síminn Pay Travel Insurance

Síminn Pay offers two types of cards, Léttkort and Corporate Card. With the Léttkort, you can purchase travel insurance before the cardholder goes on a trip. With the Corporate Card, you can choose a card with or without travel insurance. If you have travel insurance included with a Síminn Pay card, you can contact us if you experience travel-related damage or loss. We will assess the damage and compensate you according to the terms of the insurance policy.

You do not need to pay for a trip abroad with the card in order to use the card’s insurance for travel-related issues overseas.
For domestic travel insurance coverage, you need to either pay half of the travel expenses within Iceland using the card, use installment payments, or book accommodations in advance and provide the card number for payment. You must complete the purchase and/or bookings before you leave for the trip from your home.
The cards’ travel insurance is valid for up to 60 days.
In certain cases, you may be required to present confirmation of travel insurance. This is most commonly requested by medical institutions abroad in the case of a serious accident or illness.
