Motorcycle insurance

Mandatory insuranceunderlinefor all motorcycle owners. In order to increase safety and for the good of everyone, motorcycle owners are required to have liability insurance and accident insurance for the owner and driver.

For owners of off-road motorcycles, the driver's and owner's accident insurance is optional.

You can get a discount on the premium if you sign a declaration stating that only you or your spouse will be driving the motorcycle. The discount is age-dependant and increases with the age of the person taking out the insurance.

If you would like more protection, we suggest you read about the comprehensive motorcycle insurance and protective equipment insurance below. The comprehensive motorcycle insurance covers damage to the motorcycle itself, while the protective equipment insurance covers damage to the driver's protective equipment.

The insurance covers

  • Damage caused to others by the use of the vehicle, including damage to property and personal injury.
  • Damage caused by the motorcycle to another vehicle owned by you.
  • Personal injury sustained by you or the driver of the motorcycle.

The insurance does not cover

  • Damage to the motorcycle itself.
  • Damage caused by the use of the motorcycle to the property and possessions of the motorcycle's owner or driver.
  • Personal injury sustained by you or the driver if the accident may be attributed to gross negligence or intent on the part of the driver of the motorcycle.
  • Please note that the information about the insurance is not exhaustive. More detailed information can be found in the insurance terms.
  • In case of a discrepancy between this information and the insurance terms, the insurance terms apply.
