Business liability insurance

According to Icelandic law, an individual is liable for damages caused to others through negligent and unlawful actions. This rule is known as the rule of fault and is a fundamental principle in Icelandic law.

  • Damage due to loss of items in the insured's custody.

  • Damage due to fire.

  • Damage caused by the insured as the owner or user of a registered vehicle, aircraft, ship, boat or other vehicle.

  • Damage due to construction works on real estate owned or used by the insured.

  • Damage resulting from pollution. However, a compensation obligation may arise due to a sudden event.
